London’s financial districts are set to become ghost towns again this week, as the biggest rail strike in 30 years prompts some firms to tell staff to remain home.

Banks in the City have yet formally to mandate employees to work away from the office, but dealmakers and traders contacted by Financial News said most people were planning to stay home to avoid travel chaos.
