Rattner joins panel to fix auto industry

President Barack Obama named Wall Street deal maker Steven Rattner to lead the team advising the White House on rescuing the US car industry.

Mr. Rattner had long been rumoured to be the leading candidate for "car czar," a post that would oversee the restructuring of General Motors Corp. and Chrysler.
