RBC hires brace for metals and mining team

The investment banking fee pool in the metals and steel sector is up 66% on last year in Europe

RBC Capital Markets has brought in two senior bankers to lead its coverage of steel in Europe, with fees in the sector sharply up on last year.

Rod Beddows, who co-founded HCF International Advisers, which specialises in metals, joins RBC as a senior adviser, while Maria Perez-Corral, most recently a director at UBS, joins the bank as a vice president. Both will be based in London and report to Richard Horrocks-Taylor, head of metals and mining investment banking in Europe.
