Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has hired Gianfranco Mattei, chairman of Banca IMI, to run its corporate banking and financial markets business in Rome.

Mattei will take charge of RBS's office in Rome and oversee the delivery of the bank's corporate banking and financial markets products to its corporate and institutional clients. He will also liaise with RBS's structured finance, corporate and institutional banking, and specialist financial markets products teams.
