The Royal Bank of Scotland is moving one of its most senior bankers to Hong Kong to oversee the expansion of its investment banking and ancillary business in Asia Pacific.

Mike Kirby, formerly RBS' operating officer for Europe within its global banking and markets division, is taking the reins as chief operating officer for Asia Pacific, reporting to regional chief executive, John McCormick, and John Hourican, chief operating officer for global banking and markets.
