Royal Bank of Scotland has hired Mark Capleton, Morgan Stanley's former head of European interest rate strategy to a new position as head of inflation-linked research.

He will be based in London and report jointly to Kevin Gaynor, head of economic and rates research and Charles Harris, global head of inflation trading.
