Receiverships gather pace as most common exit for private equity

The exit market for private equity firms is looking increasingly dire as receivership outstrips flotations and trade sales together as the most common route out of investments in the UK.

Rod Ball, a researcher at the UK's Centre for Management Buy-Out Research, confirmed that there had been 60 private equity-backed firms put into receivership to date.
