Refco seeks to pay chief $685 per hour

Hedge fund firm buys ex-CEO Bennett's ForstmannLeff

Refco, the collapsed futures broker, has asked a US bankruptcy court for permission to pay $685 (€565) an hour to Harrison Goldin, the former New York City Comptroller it has appointed as chief executive as it begins to wind up its affairs.

Goldin is senior managing director of Goldin Associates, a bankruptcy specialist which provides financial advisory, interim management and forensic investigation consulting services.
