City leaders are urging regulators to take a closer look at the volatile and opaque private markets space after years of unchecked growth.

The Financial Conduct Authority and Bank of England have both warned in recent months that the non-bank sector could pose a risk to financial stability after booming to trillions in assets on the back of cheap money.
