Renaissance Capital has put a former senior Morgan Stanley banker in charge of setting up a new eight-strong equity-linked team, as the Russian investment bank looks forward to a boom in convertible bond issues from the country.

John Porter, who joined Rencap last year after being poached from Morgan Stanley's Dubai office from where he ran the US investment bank's Middle East financing business, has been placed in charge of new convertible bonds and hybrid products.
