Report proposes transparency rule

Listed companies should publish details in their annual report of their exposure to financial instruments used for speculative ends, says a report on corporate governance by the Institut Montaigne, an influential right wing French think-tank.

The report, Mieux Gouverner l'Enterprise, published last week, recommends that companies should tell shareholders of clauses in their debt structure that makes debt sensitive to changes in the companies' credit rating.
