Reuters, the information provider, has agreed to acquire Tass Research, one of the leading hedge fund data providers, and HedgeWorld, a US specialist news service, for an undisclosed sum.

Reuters will combine the two companies with Lipper, the wholly-owned subsidiary which provides information on mutual funds.
