Reuters puts two more assets up for sale

Reuters, the news and information group that is selling its headquarters in London's Fleet Street, has now put Yankee Group and TowerGroup, its research subsidiaries, on the block as part of a restructuring plan to save £440m (€634.65m).

Reuters bought 84% of TowerGroup, which publishes research on the financial services industry, in 1999 for $15m (€13.1m). It bought the Yankee Group, a technology research and analysis firm, from Primark for $72.5m in 2000. The acquisitions were an important step in Reuters' strategy to create a broad range of high value independent research for clients and a global research and advisory business.
