A former Oxford University rugby blue, who now works in the global metals and mining division at RBC Capital Markets, is Financial News's investment banker of the week for his role on ArcelorMittal's joint bid for Australia's Macarthur Coal.

Steel giant ArcelorMittal on Monday confirmed that it had made an indicative, non-binding and conditional proposal to acquire Australia's Macarthur Coal as part of a bid company 40% owned by ArcelorMittal and 60% owned by Peabody Energy.
