UBS has promoted Robert Gillespie to chief executive of investment banking for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will also be UBS's senior relationship holder with the Financial Services Authority, the UK regulator.

Gillespie, with the bank for 23 years, will assume the newly-created role in addition to his current position as joint global head of investment banking, which he has held with Ken Moelis since March.
