The online investment manager backed by Bats Chi-X Europe chief executive Mark Hemsley and Steve Swanson, the former global co-head of electronic trading at Citigroup, is raising capital through crowdfunding to fund a hiring push in the coming months.

InvestYourWay, which like other robo-advisers uses algorithms to build personalised portfolios in minutes or less, on Monday morning launched a campaign on UK-based crowdfunding platform Crowdcube to raise £300,000 from investors in exchange for a total 10.71% equity stake in the company. If completed successfully, the fundraising round would value the start-up at £2.8 million.
