Rothschild's advisory work for National Grid in the US has helped the bank muscle its way into advising E.ON, the German utility, on its acquisition of PowerGen, even though Goldman Sachs was already advising the firm.
Nicholas Wrigley, head of natural resources and energy utilities mergers and acquisitions at Rothschild, is leading the Rothschild team. Wrigley's team includes Nicholas Coulson, a managing director based in the firm's London office. James Douglas-Hamilton, a director in the London utilities team, and Paul Prendergast, a utilities managing director in New York, also worked on the deal.
