Rothschild takes on UBS and BNP Paribas in £3.6bn bid battle

Rothschild, the independent investment bank, was today ranged against BNP Paribas, UBS and Deutsche Bank in the battle for BPB, the UK plasterboard manufacturer.

Rothschild is sole adviser to BPB, which today rejected a 720p a share cash bid from Saint-Gobain, the French glass manufacturer, which values BPB at £3.6bn (€5.3bn).
