William Russell, director of retail funds at Royal & Sun Alliance Investments, has denied that a partial float of his division is imminent.

'London-based investment operations, managing £41bn, have become a separate 100% owned unit within Royal & Sun Alliance. We will be looking at every possible way to maximise value but a float is not on the cards,' he said.
