Russian IPOs defy critics

More than 60% of companies from Russia and the former Soviet Union that have listed in London in the past three years have outperformed the UK market, despite recent criticism over standards of corporate governance and transparency.

Of the 19 Russian companies that have listed on the London Stock Exchange's main market since January 2004, the shares of just seven are trading below their issue price, according to analysis by Financial News.
