Toby Wyles, the co-head of Apax Partners' European buy-out group before quitting last year, has resurfaced as a director at Sagitta Private Equity, a UK mid-market buy-out firm.

Wyles, who worked at Apax for 13 years rising to be a senior equity partner, was tipped as a possible successor to outgoing chief executive Ronald Cohen. The top spot eventually went to Martin Halusa, head of Apax's German office.
