Fund manager Salient Partners has hired David Linton as a managing director, responsible for leading the firm's retail sales and distribution activities. Linton was previously a managing director and head of sales for the Van Kampen Investments division of Morgan Stanley in Chicago. Salient has also named David Clifford as chief strategy officer, with a focus on product platform development, marketing and technology. Clifford was previously head of the sales and distribution platform.
