Santander has until Friday to respond to a €100m lawsuit brought by the former investment banking boss of UBS following the Spanish bank’s botched attempt to appoint him as chief executive. 

Santander, which intends to contest the charges, has until July 26 to file its response to Andrea Orcel’s claim, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. A 20-day deadline from when the case was filed for defendants is standard under Madrid court policy.
