Saudis to capitulate on oil as US stockpiles surge — analysts

The recent record-breaking price falls in the commodity are unlikely to last through the end of the year

Sharp falls in the price of oil should be erased by the end of the year through a combination of tight supply in the US and expected cuts by the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries at their meeting in December, analysts predict.

Experts say the severe slump will be short-lived, based on expectations that Saudi Arabia and its Opec partners will have to intervene to support the price.
