Schemes given time to comply with legislation

The UK government intends to stop short of forcing pension schemes to comply immediately with planned legislation requiring trustees to have investment expertise.

Ruth Kelly, financial secretary to the Treasury, has made it clear that the government would bpass "enabling" legislation, which would only come in at the discretion of the Department of Work and Pensions.
