The chief executive of Schroders has been named as the new chairman of the Investment Association - an appointment that comes some 15 months after the firm came close to quitting the trade body for UK fund managers.

Peter Harrison, who has led Schroders since April 2016, will succeed Helena Morrissey as chair of the IA on May 1, according to a statement today.
