Schroders has become embroiled in an unusual row with one of the top-ranked analysts in its sector, after he accused the company of reporting its performance in a misleading way.

The asset manager responded robustly to the criticism on March 3, arguing that the analyst, David McCann of Numis Securities, had misunderstood the way it reported.
