Schroders is preparing to exclude investments in thermal coal companies from its portfolios, including its £102.6bn mutual funds range, as pressure ramps up on asset managers to meet their climate commitments.

The FTSE 100 asset manager will update its firmwide exclusion policy later this year to incorporate coal exclusions, a spokesperson confirmed in a statement to Financial News.
