Scottish Media Group has acquired a further 0.4% stake in rival UK media house Scottish Radio Holdings, bringing its total interest of the company's issued share capital to 28.1%.

When SMG first acquired a share of SRH it said that it was not going to take the company over. Although UK broadcasting regulations make it difficult for radio companies to consolidate, the rules are expected to be liberalised fairly soon.
