SEB has brought in Morgan Stanley Dean Witter as an adviser on its merger with its fellow Swedish financial services group FöreningsSparbanken.

Insiders said that both Morgan Stanley and co-adviser JP Morgan Chase were called in a few days before the announcement of the deal. Most of the execution work was completed in-house, by SEB's own Enskilda Securities.
