SEC appoints acting chief accountant

The Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Paul Beswick as the acting chief accountant in the Office of the Chief Accountant. He will oversee accounting interpretations, international accounting matters, and professional practice issues. He replaces James Kroeker, who left the regulator this month. Beswick has been with the organisation since 2007 and was most recently deputy chief accountant.
