SEC chief urges executives to improve ethics

William Donaldson, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has warned US executives that simply following the letter of the law is no longer enough.

In a speech marking the first anniversary of legislation to tackle corporate corruption, Donaldson said that the SEC will work with corporations in raising governance standards to win back investor confidence.
