William Donaldson, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has appealed to investors for more feedback on hedge funds after describing feedback at last week's industry summit as "guarded".

Speaking at a Senate committee hearing into hedge funds Donaldson said: "We need to hear from all segments of the hedge fund industry, included those not represented at the roundtable and well as those of the investing public.
