SG has promoted Donato Gonzalez-Sanchez into the newly created role of head of investment banking for Spain, respsonsible for M&A, equity capital markets, equity sales and trading and equity research.

Last year, the French bank fired more than 200 staff from its investment banking arm in Italy, Spain and the UK following a strategic review of its operations initiated by Kim Fennebresque, global head of investment banking.
