Pierre Mirat, a former deputy CEO of Morgan Stanley in France, has joined SG as its first European head of financial institutions.

Mirat left Morgan Stanley last year after holding the dual position of deputy CEO and European co-head of financial institutions. His newly-created role at SG is part of a push to extend its European FIG coverage. Mirat will seek to strengthen SG CIB's coverage of banks and insurance companies. Mirat will be based in London and report to Christian Gomez, SG's global head of FIG.
