Finance needs to ‘help men to help women’

Fathers who take more than two weeks off to care for their new baby are still subjected to ridicule and fear that their careers will be damaged, according to Financial News’ latest Women in Finance Survey.

Nearly three-quarters (72%) of the 746 women surveyed by FN, all of whom work in European financial services, said either their firm did not actively encourage shared parental leave, or they did not know if it was encouraged. Only 28% said it was.
