Morgan Stanley has promoted its head of European investment banking to a global chief role as part of a broader reshuffle of its senior dealmaking ranks.

Simon Smith, who has been head of investment banking for Europe, the Middle East and Africa investment banking at Morgan Stanley since 2015, has been promoted to global co-head of the unit alongside Eli Gross, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.
