Simpson Thacher & Bartlett unveils 12 partners

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has promoted 12 attorneys to the partner level. The promoted group includes Ryan Bekkerus in New York, who works with Simpson Thacher's investment banking clients on corporate finance transactions; Mark Brod, who works in Simpson's London office on capital markets transactions; Andrew Calder in Houston, who focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and corporate and securities laws and Brian Chisling of its New York office, who works on deals involving energy and infrastructure clients. Other attorneys rising to the partner level are Daniel Ferting in Hong Kong, who works with underwriters and insurers on equity and debt securities offerings; Nicholas Goldin, who represents companies, boards and executives in government and internal investigations; Jason Herman, a New York lawyer who focuses on private investment funds and Alexandra Kaplan in New York, who focuses on syndicated loan financings. Juan Mendez, a New York lawyer who focuses on Latin America and the Caribbean; Antti Pesonen, a London corporate lawyer whose specialties include domestic and cross-border syndicated credit and acquisition finance; Deborah Stein, a Los Angeles litigation attorney focusing on insurance and class action cases and Daniel Webb, who works mainly on capital markets transactions and M&A, will also become partners.
