The recently appointed chief executive of the Singapore Exchange said he is open to expanding the business through mergers and acquisitions, if they can help deliver on the priorities he laid out in 2015 when he took the helm at the Asian bourse.
Speaking at a press briefing in Hong Kong on 18 February, Loh Boon Chye, the former Bank of America Merrill Lynch banker who joined SGX in July 2015, said the exchange is open to potential M&A deals in areas such as fixed income and foreign exchange, and is also interested in market data and index businesses.
