Singer & Friedlander sells Collins Stewart

Singer & Friedlander, the UK investment bank, is selling stockbroker Collins Stewart to its management team for £122m and will now concentrate on asset management and banking.

The move follows the bank's decision to reduce its dependence on stock broking to make the business less reliant on volatile equity markets.
