Jan Wangärd, head of Skandia's Latin American operations and member of the executive management team of Skandia, the troubled Swedish financial services group, was found dead on Tuesday in a hotel room in central Stockholm.

Ulf Göranzon, spokesman for the criminal police in Stockholm, said Wangärd was found hanged at Elite Hotel Plaza in central Stockholm. The police do not suspect foul play.
