Sobering time for Nuovo Mercato

Firms are more cautious about the market now

The fizz has not yet disappeared from Italy's Nuovo Mercato, but the perception that the bubbly exuberance that has characterised its first year of life might evaporate has prompted postponements and more cautious pricing strategies.

More than 50 companies were expected to come to the market in the next few months as firms sought to exploit the momentum created by the first 12 listings.
