Société Générale has appointed a former UBS chief as its first electronic services head, as the French Investment bank seeks to take advantage of the proliferation of automated exchange venues that have emerged throughout Europe over the last three years.

Mark Goodman, who most recently was head of sales for Emea in UBS' electronic business, has been appointed as Société Générale's head of electronic services for Europe, a newly created role.
