Societe Generale agrees to sell UK and Swiss private banks to Union Bancaire Privée

The French bank has been shedding some business lines this year

Societe Generale has agreed to sell its UK and Swiss private banking units to Union Bancaire Privée as the French lender continues to streamline its business under its new chief executive.

The French bank has signed agreements to sell SG Kleinwort Hambros, its British private banking arm, and Societe Generale Private Banking Suisse, it said in a statement.
