The global head of Societe Generale's financial institutions group is to switch to a new role at the bank at the end of this year, with his position passing to a colleague who joined in 2009.

The French bank said in a statement today that Pierre-Yves Bonnet, who has been with the bank since 2001 and run the financial institutions group since its formation in 2012, is to take "new responsibilities within the bank".
