SoftBank said on 14 September that it agreed to sell chip-designer Arm to chip maker Nvidia Corp. in a deal valued at $40bn.

The Japanese technology and investment company said the UK chip designer is one of its most important strategic assets and added that the combination of Arm with the US chip maker would likely achieve greater potential than the listing of Arm alone.
