SoftBank back in the black with $11.8bn profit

Recently, it has been selling off assets to fund share buybacks and bolster its balance sheet through debt redemption

SoftBank returned to the black after big investment losses last fiscal year, reporting a Yen1.26tn ($11.8bn) net profit in the April-June quarter.

SoftBank lost $9bn in the year ended in March--the worst results in the company's history--after its technology-focused $100bn Vision Fund posted an investment loss of nearly $17bn.
