Softbank, the Japanese internet investment firm, has recorded a ¥54.3bn ($441bn) loss for the six months to the end of September after marking down the value of its portfolio of internet investments by ¥51bn.

The firm has over 600 investments globally, with some of its biggest investments close to joining the so-called 90% Club, an ever-growing group of technology companies whose stocks have lost more than 90% of their value since last year's crash.
