Fund managers must pay attention to their technology if they are to strip out unnecessary trading costs, according to financial technology experts.

So-called failed trades, which are trades that fail to smoothly complete their life cycle from execution through to matching, settlement and safe custody, can push up trading costs for fund managers by as much as 50%.
