Investment bankers at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Allen & Co are advising the music streaming company Spotify on its much-anticipated initial public offering — but the "novel" deal will leave many on Wall Street empty-handed.

Spotify filed plans for its potential $1bn IPO on the New York Stock Exchange yesterday. The deal could value the group at more than $20bn.
